Miracles of the Mission Field
Where: HollandWhen: Late 1890's
What: JWD Hurren was serving a mission in Holland. It was a very rough time for him and his young family that he left at home in Utah. As a missionary, he was often hungry and without sufficient food.
After arriving home from his mission, JWD was unpacking his belongings with his beloved wife, Margaret Ashcroft by his side. As they were unpacking his clothes from his Holland mission, his wife found a napkin and she asked him where did this napkin come from?
He reported to her that one day, he was walking along near a bridge and was starving because he had not eaten. On a bridges railing, he found a napkin. Inside the napkin was a sandwich that he ate.
His wife said with tears in her eyes, "This is my NAPKIN." I have had a missing napkin out of our set for a long time.
