LIFE SKETCH of Marion Terrell, daughter of Jeremiah Terrell and Mary Ann Webb


Marion Terrell is same as Mary Webb (on her GRAVESTONE, her name is seen as "Marion T. Wilcox")
She was born 3 March 1854 at some North Hampton Scheier England she was one of twins who were the last born on 11 children nine girls and two boys so I found her twin sisters only lived to be two years old Jeremiah Terrel Books and works for a minister of the church of England and gave his family the modern comforts of life
Marian's older sister Hannah who left at douche anger the next village about 2 miles away that's a Mormon elders became interested and join the Latter Day Saints church Mary and web the mother of Mary and had poor health and died in 1870 at the age of 55 years before joining the church but she asked her husband Jeremiah to join the church and bring her family to America. It was not much later that he emigrated in order to earn money to send for the children he joined the church after his arrival in Utah 

Jeremiah had gained great favor with that minister and his family when he was ready to leave the ministers family felt very bad and the minister persuaded him not to come to America but when he desired to come again you did not tell Minister Barton in 1872 only a few days before Jeremiah was to leave Mr. Barton took sick and died and was lying in state when he sailed

Marian Terrell was only 14 at this time she lived with her sister one year then flew as Marian was call was obliged to go to WANs words in the suburbs of London where she served as a cook for a Mrs. Adams for three years before she came to America in 1876 while she was in London she was baptized April 30, 1876 by William Binder in the north London branch of the London conference

In Salt Lake she was met by her father and sister Rachel she then went to Cedarvalley in Utah County and lived for a while before going to work for John W Young Pres. Brigham Young's son this is where she and George a Wilcox met for the first time each started work the same day she in the morning and he in the evening she was Kuckuck's house she later took care of mother Young Pres. Young's first wife Mary and enjoyed the visit of Pres. Young and learn to care very much for his wonderful character later she lived with the family of sharp walker here she was also treated as one of the family these were the two years previous to her marriage to George a Wilcox on September 4, 1879 when they were married in the endowment house

They live the following five years in the 11th ward of salt lake city after this time they were called on a mission to the Hawaiian Islands and left May 6, 1884 taking with them to children Edna and Anna while they were on the islands another daughter Ella was born and she was the first white child born for sometime Pres. Joseph E Smith named her Lana Howley meaning heavens return Pres. Smith was there on his third mission Marian used to take care of the mission home along with the other missionary wives

In April 1887 they returned home living again in the 11th ward later they moved to Ogden where they lived until 1897 when they moved to Preston Oneida County now Franklin County Idaho as no living quarters were immediately available they went to Riverdale for one year after which time they secured a house in Preston or they later bought a home in which they have lived ever cents

Grandmother was very active in the relief society work and was relief society chorister in the first ward for many years she was also on the burial committee and teacher in fill her health would no longer permit activity

She was a splendid practical nurse and assisted Dr. A.R. Cutler senior along with other doctors for years she is the mother of seven children six girls Edna Irma Ella Mabel Alice and Anna and one boy jerk George two children died her son at the age of 14 and Alice went one month old

Mary lived to be 74 years of age and enjoyed fairly good health being able to do our own work and care for her husband until the time of her death she died November 16, 1929 having been painfully and fatally burned while cleaning her yard and burning the leaves on the afternoon of the same day living only eight hours after the accident her funeral service was in the second Ward chapel Monday, November 18 Bishop LE Hansen officiating
